Academia Sinica has out-licensed IPMB anti-bacteria "Amphipathic Protein-1" (AP-1) technology to the African Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF) to develop bacterial wilt resistant bananas for Africa. Academia Sinica and AATF agreed to engage in a collaborative humanitarian project with International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) and the National Agricultural Research Systems (NARS) for the improved production of banana in Africa.

The partnership agreement was signed on August 11, 2006 at Academia Sinica by Dr Mpoko Bokanga, AATF's Executive Director, Dr Michael M.C. Lai, Vice President of Academia Sinica and Dr Teng-Yung Feng, the AP-1 inviter.MORE
